How to use

The APP has 4 difference functional pages at the moment.

You can switch between different pages by clicking the left top corner button and select the function from the list or you can press the arrow button at the top right corner of the APP.

List of Phonics

Here you can explore all the letter(s) and their phonemes and related words. You can even Add your own word which follow the same phonic rules to expand the list. Since the words in the same phonics rule are easy to remember together, this will be a quick way to enlarge the vocabulary. It will also be a challenge for young students to study new words by dissecting the phonics and fit new words into existing group. The will feel achieved some success when learning new words, more importantly, they understand most words spelling are following rules rather than random combinations of letters.

Users can select some new words and lick the Learn button. Then the words will be logged into a new word list in the APP. Our APP will help you to grasp these words in some intuitive ways in the next page.

Teachers can also request a Windows/Mac program from us to generate a study word list and assign to students to learn. Such request can be sent to us via the APP feedback form.

Learning new words

In this page, user need to register with us so we can manage the new word list for different users. Once registered, users can add new word from the List of Phonics page and start learning here.

First function is practice. Once can watch the spelling, see the phonic details, then press the Practice button to cover up the word and try to type it in the box. If really struggling, you can press the peeking button to have another quick look until you can fully and correctly type the word in the box. You can click the speaker button to latent to the British pronunciation of the word at any time. This is helpful for some non-native English speaker parents.

If users feel confident of remembering all the spellings, they can press the Test Button to start a test. The words in the new word list will then be read out one by one and APP will check the words students typing answers.

We noticed sometimes typing is quite a different thing from handwriting for young children. Therefore, a Dictation function is there to help. The words will be read out. The students need to write the words down. These is quite important for young children when they just start spelling , such as y 4-7. For senior students, they also use this a way to mimic a real dictation at home.

Once users confidently remember the learning word, they can select the word and click the Grasped button to remove the word from the list and carry on other new words.

The meaning in our APP to each word is not dictionary level annotated because of the IP restriction. Therefore, we provide a quick link for user to check the precise meaning details from Oxford dictionary web site. By clicking Meaning button, you can check the meaning details there.

Account and feedbacks

In the Account pane, there two small pages. You can click the bottom dots to switch between them. If you are first time user, you can go to the second pane to fill in the details and register with us. If already registered, you can put your login details in the first page and log in to the APP. In that way, you can use the learning function.
